Process

What You Need to Apply for Your Habitat Home

  • South Carolina driver’s licence or photo ID

  • Most recent tax return – for applicant and co-applicant

  • Paycheck stubs, SSI statements (last four months)

  • Checking account – 3 months of statements

  • Savings account – 3 months of statements

  • Job stability – minimum 1 ½ yrs in current employment

  • Household income falls within Charleston County limits established by HUD (see chart to the right)

  • Rental history – no late payments

  • Credit report history – minimum 600 credit score

  • Ties to the area where you are applying – family, job, etc.

  • No criminal record – individuals with drug possession/distribution & sexual abuse convictions will be disqualified

We are currently only accepting applications for homes on Wadmalaw Island. Our hope is to open the application process for other locations on October 1, 2020. Please contact us again at that time.
