For 3 years Sea Island Habitat for Humanity has been steadily growing its Critical Home Repair Program to address the ongoing need in the community for safe and affordable housing. Through roof, door, window, and accessibility repair projects, SIHH has completed almost 400 critical repairs on owner-occupied houses. 100% of these repairs have been for those living at or below the poverty level and 85% have been for senior citizens allowing them to safely age in place. 

 

The Types of repairs we focus on include:

• Exterior door repair

• Window repair

• Adding or replacing door seals

• Accessibility (wheelchair ramps and handrails)

• Leaky roofs

• Caulking/foaming cracks and gaps

This year our goal is for $100,000 to support repairing 100 homes. The biggest way to help is to donate now and to help us bring comfort and security to homeowners living below the poverty line who are in desperate need.
