every volunteer

can build hope

By volunteering locally with Habitat for Humanity, you can be part of the change you want to see in your community.

We are always looking for volunteers to support our mission!

CONSTRUCTION

Helping on a Habitat construction site is one of the most unique, hands-on volunteer opportunities.

  • No experience needed - We provide the training and tools needed to make a difference that you will see and feel at the end of the day

  • Meet new people - Work alongside neighbors with a shared value for service and make new friends!

RESTORE

ReStores, Habitat's home improvement stores and donation centers, sell new and gently used home goods and building materials to benefit Habitat's work in the community.

  • Service with a smile - Help our stores operate smoothly with tasks such as organizing displays, cleaning, and much more.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I/we expect on a build day? Our build plan on work sites varies from week to week. You might be digging foundations, roofing, painting, helping on a critical repair, or anything in between. If you would like to know specifics, please reach out to us a few days before your shift.

What do I need to bring/wear? We provide tools, personal safety items, water, building materials, training, and supervision. Bring whatever food you will need and make sure to wear clothes for the weather and that can get a little dirty.

We are coming from out-of-town, is there anywhere for us to stay? We have 2 houses located on Johns Island for our out-of-town volunteer groups. We have a housing donation of $215 per person. Our George Miller House has 24 bed, 3.5 baths and our Faith House 18 beds, 2 baths. You will need to reserve our houses at least 2 months in advance. Email us at volunteer@seaislandhabitat.org

For our corporate group, is it possible to cater in food? Yes! Let's chat. We are able to support the needs of your group while making sure we keep the work site safe.
