It is an honor as well as a pleasure for our family to be the 2010 Women Build family.

Our family is composed of my mother Maribel, and three children: Maria, Ivan, and Tanya. My mom is 39 years old and is a hardworking woman.

Every day she is committed to helping us achieve our dreams as well as reaching her own dream. “Owning my own home will open many doors for me and my children” says Maribel.

Maria is 20 years old and is currently enrolled in the US Marine Corps. This is her last year of enrollment, and she plans to attend a college near home after her four years of hard work.

Ivan, 18, is currently in his senior year of high school and plans to follow our sister’s footsteps by joining the Marine Corps and attending college afterwards.

I am currently in my sophomore year of high school and dream of being one of the few Hispanics to attend Harvard University.

We are so thankful for the support of Habitat and the Women Build volunteers and donors. Our family’s dream is coming true by being given the opportunity to be a future homeowner!
