the years of contributing to charities, I have unfortunately found that
I needed to be wise indeed, because so few organizations manage to pass
on even 75% of the donations to their intended recipients.
Then
I discovered Sea Island Habitat for Humanity. I don’t know of any
other program that takes a donation and multiplies its effect so many
times over. I recommend Sea
Island Habitat to everyone who would like to give a donation – then a
year later I go by the home they have helped build and actually SEE the
results with the family moved in. When
making a monetary donation, it is good to know that you are getting a
real return on your investment both financially -

Donor: Several years ago I became acquainted with the efforts of Habitat for
Humanity, and had the pleasure of working with several members of the
Sea Island Habitat contingent. The
nationwide program for providing housing for people in need is an
admirable undertaking, made all the more gratifying to the new
homeowners by requiring their assistance in building their future home. I know of no other program requiring such participation,
with the result always being a sense of mutual pride in a working
partnership. Having seen
the people and the homes, I was moved to make a major contribution to
Sea Island Habitat last year – knowing it would become a cornerstone
for yet another desperately needed home.
